Sunflowers have been painted for decades  by many artists, in many styles. Van Gogh is famous for his sunflower paintings. Artists I have studied with, Niki, Laurie, and Nancy all paint amazing sunflowers, all unique in their personal style.  But, no matter how often they are the subject of the canvas, each is unique works by the vision of the artist.

I’ve loved them since I was a little girl (long time ago!!) and would see them growing in fields, while on a drive through the countryside. To grow, the sunflowers need full sun. Depending on which scientific research you read, the flower does rotate to the sun during the day, but it is not from which the name is derived.

I love to paint them and when I look back at the ones I’ve painted over the years, they all speak to me in a different way….much like they are painted.

But, I do know of one Son that speaks the same way, every day, all the time and He is the souce of all joy and hope.

Turn your face to the Son of all joy and hope.

Blessings and hugs….
