Love Never Fails…I really had a hard time typing that…because humanly(?) love does fail, at times. Leaving us broken, hurt, sad, questioning and angry.
Hold on…this isn’t a sad blog…
The “Love” day is fast approaching…I’ve blogged about Valentines Day in previous years. My thoughts haven’t changed that much, I still think it is a “greeting card” created holiday. It’s great to recognize in a special way, those we love, but why just one day set aside…? This day can bring a lot of sadness to those who feel alone.
When our daughter was small, her dad always bought her a stuffed animal and of course candy. One year, he brought home a red gift bag…and it became a gift that kept on giving for 16 1/2 years. It was our cocker spaniel, Hank Jake McCord Mackey.
Then years later, our granddaughter, entered our world and became the receiver of Pee Paws Valentines. I remember our daughter saying, “Dad, I remember when I got gifts!!” Awwwwww….Grandchildren…love, love, love!! You think you can’t love anymore than you do your children, then along comes a grandchild. That kind of immeasurable love, only comes from HIM!!
The greatest Love is a love I can depend on every day of every month. It is not just shown on the “biggest love day” of the year. The greatest love and the greatest gift is from our Heavenly Father. He loves us with perfect, life-giving love.
His love is our hope-when we struggle for one more heart beat.
His love never disappoints-even when we do.
He never leaves us-even when we mess up and don’t handle the situation well.
He is always faithful-even when our faith waivers.
He is perfect in His love and truth. His love is the light of the world, His love is our answer, it shines on us and hopefully shines from us.
How dramatically different the world can be, if we all accept His love, share it with others and our light shines to all we meet!
If you are reading this and feel like you are alone on this “love” day/weekend, please know you are NOT. He is with you, He loves you, He will never leave you.
It’s great to have a “love day” but we don’t need a “greeting card” designated day to show those we love and care for them, our heart tells us to do that every day!!!
Blessings and hugs…
Happy Valentine’s Day! Headed to a HUG IN!!
Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it. (Proverbs 4:23 NIV)
