The above painting was painted during a workshop taught by artist, Nancy Medina. It was a one day workshop held at the Dallas Arboretum, a true jewel for the City of Dallas. It is also one of the top 14 places in the WORLD to see spring flowers. Make plans now to attend Dallas Blooms March 3-April 8. Also, ArtScape is March 16-18 with some of the finest artists displaying and selling their works.

Check out the website, as the Arboretum offers something for everyone. I am so excited as I purchased spring/summer Tuesday night concert tickets. Looking forward to some great music under the stars!!

I love color and it shows in my paintings. I remember the excitement of getting the BIG box of crayons, opening them up, the smell of wax,  seeing the most wonderful colors. I always pulled out the many variations of the color PURPLE. I’d spend hours playing with color! It always evoked some type of emotion….joy, happiness, fun. As a grandmother, it has been excuse and great pleasure to play again with a box of crayons!!

Some of my favorite colors are Crimson, Turquoise, Cadmium yellow, Mars orange, and PURPLE(my childhood bedroom was decorated in purple, my highschool boyfriend((now my husband of 40 years)) drove a purple Roadrunner and a purple Cuda, the WC in my home is also painted purple).

Our world is full of color….we just have to take our sunglasses off and view the world around us. As spring blooms….pay close attention to the color around you….notice how many different greens God has placed in the landscape, the sunrises, the sunsets, notice the vibrant produce in the store, buy a box of crayons.

You truly do not have to squint to see the beauty.

Psalm 27:4

Amplified Bible (AMP)

4One thing have I asked of the Lord, that will I seek, inquire for, and require: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold and gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to meditate, consider, and inquire in His temple.
