Recently, I had to say a final earthly goodbye to my sweet cousin, Larry Dean. He left us too early at the age of 57. He had the sweetest smile and contagious laugh. It is still a little hard to believe, illness happened too quick, complications set in,  leaving his loving family in disbelief. So very hard to find words to bring immediate comfort.  Anytime someone dies before we think it is time, it causes or should cause us to reflect on our life.

WORDS…can be the sweetest sound,  the most powerful weapon, the healing medicine, the joyful song, the knife of betrayal,  the comfort to wrap around you, a cool breeze in the scorching sun. As a song by Hawk Nelson sings…words can build up up, words can break us down…”.

Here are some comforting words of love an hope, I read in this morning’s devotion time…

A friend sent to me at just the right time (thank you Faith Ann) and I think it is worth sharing…

The Trumpet by Bill Burns

Listen to Me. I know what you have been through. I know the harshness of the past season that you have had to endure. I know the reality of that, but please understand that it was for your benefit; the benefit of strength; the benefit of your trust in Me. Those things that you have endured and gone through have made you stronger if you believe they have. And, as you come out into a new season you will find the strength that I have given to you will become a reality. It stretched you and caused you to walk with greater dignity, greater revelation, greater focus than ever before. This new reality will benefit you in the season that is now unfolding before you. So leave those things in My hand. The things you endured will now become your ornaments–they tell the world, tell the enemy, you have been through something, and you have come out victoriously on this side of it. This day, see yourself as victorious, says the Lord.

Although the world is full of suffering it is full also of the overcoming of it…Helen Keller

God cannot give us a happiness and peace apart from Himself, because it is not there. There is no such thing…C.S Lewis

If we had no winter, the spring would not be so pleasant: if we did not sometimes taste of adversity, prosperity would not be so welcome.  Anne Bradstreet

Whatever journey you are own, He is preparing the way. I just found comfort in the above words and hope they bring you comfort during your journey. This world can be brutal at times, but our hope lies in a place far greater than we can imagine! And Larry Dean is finding out just how great!!

Please, please listen to the below song…so powerful. Then ask yourself the question…Do my words point back to Him?

Blessings and hug,

Today’s Melody

The Lord himself will fight for you. Just stay calm. (Exodus 14:14 NLT) I actually like The Message translation, it fits me better…God will fight the battle for you. And you? You keep your mouth shut! (Lord, I’m trying!!)
