As the second Mother’s Day without my Mom approaches, I am so reminded of what an amazing lady and Mom she was to me. I only wish I had told her more often. She came from such meager beginnings, but the strength, determination, the “true grit” as she called it, got her through so much adversity in her life. She lived life to the fullest…she loved life, her friends, dancing, her Lord, and her family.
I feel her love everyday. During adversity in my life, I’ve reached back to her example to get through some very dark days. Although, I havn’t been able to do it with her grace, I am thankful for her example. God blessed me with a Mom filled with so much love for her family and she did so until He took her home.
God is good…all the time…. I hear you, Mom everyday!
A mother is the truest friend we have, when trials, heavy and sudden, fall upon us; when adversity takes the place of prosperity; when friends who rejoice with us in our sunshine, desert us when troubles thicken around us, still will she cling to us, and endeavor by her kind precepts and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness, and cause peace to return to our hearts.” -Washington Irving
“When you were small and just a touch away, I covered you with blankets against the cold night air. But now that you are tall and out of reach, I fold my hands and cover you with prayer. Dona Maddux Cooper
