The above painting was painted for me!! I just cranked up the music and squeezed out luscious colors in the purple family. I painted way out of the lines and out of my comfort zone. I threw caution to the wind and all the instruction voices in my head. I left it on the easel for several weeks and looked at it daily. It never felt totally finished. I left the painting in the corner of the studio until this week. I placed it back on the easel and placed a few highlights and signed it!! It is now hanging on our bedroom wall. I just love it! Through my eyes I see fun, joy, and wild and happy.
Maybe I’m feeling a little anxiety over my upcoming birthday. It is the last year of my 50’s!! My sweet nephew told me, “60’s are the new 30”!!! I know he was being kind. The only 30’s I will feel are in the above painting!! On my 30th birthday, I was in Maine and spent the day climbing Mt. Katahdan, the Northern most part of the Appalachian Trail. It took me eight hours to the top and four hours down!! It was truly an amazing fete for me and one I’m proud to have accomplished. I truly pushed the boundaries of my physical strength. The only thing I’ll climb on my 60th is probably into bed!!
Hmmmm…with Purple Majesty I think I pushed the boundaries just a bit!! It’s my birthday party and I’ll paint what I want to!!!
If anyone is interested in the above painting….it is for sale!! Email me.
Blessings and hugs….

Why does God love you so much?
For the same reason the artist loves his paintings. You are His idea!
Ephesians 2:10 confirms that we are “God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.”
