Awwww….the Season….Upon us once again. Each year it arrives earlier and earlier. I think the first sign of Christmas I witnessed this year was in September!! It was at a craft store but still always amazes me. Along with this season comes memories. Some good, some not so good. We miss those that are no longer with us. We miss those who are far away and won’t be home for Christmas. Some spend Christmas in the hospital. Some spend it alone.

We get cranky with all the preparations (ME!), We don’t seem to have enough time to do everything(ME!). As I was stomping around complaining about “I’m the one who does it all…yada, yada, yada”, then I stopped. I started thinking how very blessed I am, to even have all the busyness. I have a great job, I live in a safe comfortable place, I’m able to give to those I care for and love, I get to minister to some of the most wonderful, kind, and compassionate people. A few nights ago, we helped hand out gifts and serve food to some precious, happy, and grateful children. WHY AM I COMPLAINING?!

Did the wise men who traveled hundreds of miles across the desert to seek the infant Jesus, grip and complain? It took months to make the long trip. They had to haul gifts, expensive gifts for the time, for the new Child. But, did they complain…Why me? Why us? I’m tired, I’m too busy. Probably not. They kept their eye on the reason…the newborn Christ child.

Our gift giving should come from the heart. If it doesn’t, if it is a burden, if it is done without the attitude of gratitude for the greatest gift of all… joy has  been lost. The greatest gift of all is the reason for this time of year. That should be our focus. Stop for a moment, reflect and be blessed for your Joyful Busyness!!

This year, our Christmas is a little different. We are having our celebration a week early. With this, without planning, could make it stressful. But, with some planning, and with the right mind set…Joyful Busyness

Now, gift wrapping is a different story. I know those who love and take as much care with the gift wrap as I do picking out the gift. This year, after I wrapped, mailed, or couriered 52 client gifts, I wasn’t looking forward to my personal gift wrapping. But I shook off the urge to complain and turned up the music and knocked it out in a few hours.

The spirit of Christmas is always in our heart. The key is keeping our focus on the reason for this time of year.

My wish to all who read this, is a very Merry and Blessed Christmas and a very blessed 2016.

Blessings and hugs…

Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights… (James 1:17)
