I did it…almost!! I committed to Paint 30 paintings in 30 days. The object was to paint everyday, post and blog. I was all prepared. I had all my supplies, I laid out photos for inspiration, organized paint area and was ready to paint.
I set my alarm to rise 2 hours early each day. My plan was to paint, then bible study, then off to work. First few days went off ok…then I noticed I couldn’t think of what to paint, I’d start painting and it would not evolve. I started hitting the snooze button, then one day I decided to quit. The day I didn’t paint, it bothered me all day!! First, I was disappointed that I was giving up… Secondly, I made a commitment and wanted to finish.
The point of the challenge was to get you in the studio, paint more, learn, and most of all have fun!! The pressure I put on myself, took the joy away. So, I re-evaluated and picked up the brush and continued on…I didn’t quit!. But, I had to talk to myself and decide why I committed to this challenge. What I wanted to achieve and what I hoped to accomplish.
In the upcoming weeks/months, as I blog, I will feature one of the 29 paintings. I will share the inspiration and any words “given” to me to share.
Blessings and hugs,
Obstacles can’t stop you, problems can’t stop you, most of all other people can’t stop you… the only one who stops you is yourself. (copied)
