The above painting is an experiment for me and a little out of my box. I actually dreamt it one night. I woke with the colors in my mind and had to go to my studio and start painting. I am truly inspired by God’s creation, the colors he paints our world.
I think I could live in a tent (well maybe a motorhome!!) if I had a view each time I looked out my window. I have been so so blessed to experience some magnificent views while traveling. From the rolling hills of Tuscany, to the turquoise waters of the West Indies, to the majestic Rocky Mountains, the Sangre de Cristo Mountians of New Mexico, to peering down from the Acropolis in Greece, I am always taken aback by God’s creation. I am a native Dallasite so I have never had a majestic view from my window. But, I truly have experienced some of the most amazing sunrises and sunsets, flowers and even pastures!!
We recently traveled through the Texas Hill Country. And you can actually experience Bob Wills lyrics… “I saw miles and miles of Texas all the stars up in the sky, I saw miles and miles of Texas gonna live here ’til I die”. As we drove the Willow City Loop I was once again in awe of the view. It may not be Colorado, New Mexico or Greece but it is truly majestic. The day we drove it was overcast, cold and misting rain. To some the weather might have ruined the day, but to me it enhanced the beauty.
I truly believe, as the saying goes, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. We can always “wish” ourselves somewhere else but if we just take a moment and LOOK for the beauty, it will be revealed to us.
Blessings and hugs…
